MOTHER

Mother is a great treasure given by Allah Almighy. Islam has given the top rank to Mother. That is, a person should love and respect his mother next to Allah Almighty and Beloved Prophet Sallallahu Alaihiwasallam.

There are Al Quran Verses and Al Hadiths related to dignity of Mother.

Al-Qur’an:

“We have enjoined on man kindness to his parents: in pain did his mother bear him, and in pain did she give him birth. The carrying of the (child) to his weaning is (a period of) thirty months. At length, when he reaches the age of full strength and attains forty years, he says,

“O my Lord! Grant me that I may be grateful for Thy favour which Thou hast bestowed upon me, and upon both my parents, and that I may work righteousness such as Thou mayest approve; and be gracious to me in my issue. Truly have I turned to Thee and truly do I bow (to Thee) in Islam.” Such are they from whom We shall accept the best of their deeds and pass by their ill deeds: (they shall be) among the Companions of the Garden: a promise of truth, which was made to them (in this life)”.    (Al-Ahqaf, 46:15,16)

Al Hadith:

It is narrated by Sayyidina Abu Hurayrah (RadhiAllahu Anhu) that a man came to the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihiwasallam) and asked him, "Who amongst his near one had the greatest right over him?" The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihiwasallam) replied, "Your mother". The man then asked, "Who after that?" to which the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihiwasallam) replied again, "Your mother". Asked who is next, the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihiwasallam) again replied, "Your mother". When the man asked who after that, the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihiwasallam) said, "Your father".  (Sahih al Bukhari)

It is narrated by Sayyidina Abu Hurayrah (RadhiAllahu Anhu) that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihiwasallam) said (once), “May he be humiliated. May he be humiliated. May he be humiliated!” The Companions asked him, “Messenger of Allah! Who?” He said, “He who has parents, or one of them, in their old age yet he goes to Hell (because of not serving and helping them).”

(Musnad Ahmad bin Hanbal)

And it is most famous saying of Beloved Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihiwasallam) that “paradise lies under the feet of your mother”
